Responsible values brought Medanta and the organizer of the Finland-Sweden international match together. Athletes, officials and the audience are wearing Medanta masks. “It’s really great to be part of making the biggest sporting event of the autumn possible,” says Medanta CEO Anu Kivelä.

Medanta, which manufactures antimicrobial workwear, is donating face masks to the audience, national team athletes, officials and volunteers at the Finland-Sweden international match.

The legendary Finland-Sweden international track and field match will be contested on September 5-6 at Ratina Stadium in Tampere. Medanta is donating 10,000 disposable masks to the match audience and 1,000 reusable cloth masks to the Finnish and Swedish national teams and to the competition's volunteer officials.

Elisa Hakanen, the general secretary of the Sweden match, says that the donation originated through the social and healthcare services company Pihlajalinna, the organizer of the international match and a joint partner of Medanta.

"Similar values and desires for organizing a responsible event quickly met with Medanta. We found a great partner who shows by example how to act responsibly," says Hakanen.

Medanta was excited to join the support team for the exciting race weekend.

"We want to support Finnish athletics and do our part to ensure safe conditions for athletes, organizers and the public at the venue. It's really great to be part of making the biggest sporting event of the autumn possible," says Anu Kivelä , CEO of Medanta.

Developed with healthcare professionals, Medanta's durable face masks, which will be distributed to national team members and competition volunteers, are made of double-layer 4-way microfiber fabric.

The reusable face mask breathes well, fits comfortably on the face and does not sweat. Antibacterial technology forms a film on the surface of the mask that droplets do not easily penetrate. The mask filtered 84 percent of bacteria in a test by the Spanish, accredited Eurofins research institute.

The disposable mask distributed to spectators is designed for use in situations where there is a risk of splashing.

According to Sports Director Elisa Hakanen, those entering the audience can get a disposable mask from the ticket office if they wish. The team management, in turn, will take care of distributing the masks to their club's athletes and other people.

"Athletes cannot wear masks during warm-ups and competition, but they are necessary when they move between the hotel and the competition venue and when returning to their home country."
